Two American vaudeville performers Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, are obliged to hightail it out of Australia to escape from a dual shotgun wedding. They wind up on a South Sea island where they vie for the favour of gorgeous Princess Lala Dorothy Lamour. An evil Prince, eager to steal a sunken treasure belonging to the Princess’s father, threatens to do away with them, so they flee with Lala to another exotic island, where they proceed to croon, spoon and buffoon their way through such dangers as a tribe of head-hunters, a belching volcano, a giant squid and a smitten gorilla.
