Dan Brady, Mickey Rooney, a cocky car mechanic, wants to impress a fatally attractive blond, Jeanne Cagney, who’s new in town. Short of cash, Dan ‘borrows’ $20 from his employers till to take her out. They have a good time, and Dan has no idea he’s taken his first step into Quicksand. The $20 quickly becomes $100, which can only be repaid by a crime, and leaves him open to extortion - leading him into a worse crime. Every move he makes to extricate himself only sucks him deeper into trouble – until the cops are after him for suspected murder. Peter Lorre co-stars in this compelling drama.
