Rescued by a freighter when his small boat is blown out to sea, a young American Gregory Peck, finds himself in turn of the century London, penniless and friendless. Then his life changes dramatically and comically when two eccentric brothers (to settle a bet) present him with The Million Pound Note. Suddenly, nothing is too good for him, and everyone from doormen to dukes want to be his friend – he even meets the girl of his dreams, but will it last? A delightful comedy of manners, money and morals based on a story by Mark Twain.
