Fresh out of rehab, recovering drug addict, Frankie Machine Frank Sinatra, is determined to make a fresh start as a musician, but his crippled wife, Zosch Eleanor Parker, wants him to return to his old life as a card dealer, and the neighbourhood drug pusher Darren McGavin, wants him back as a customer. Only his former lover, Molly Kim Novak, is willing to stand by The Man With The Golden Arm, as he wrestles with the demon that threatens to consume him again. Directed by Otto Preminger, this outstanding drama features fine performances and an original jazz score by Elmer Bernstein.
