JAMAICA INN

England in the early 1800’s, when the arm of the law is neither long nor strong, especially on the remote coast of Cornwall, where storm-driven ships are lured to their doom by the false beacons of wreckers. They murder the crew, steal the cargo then retire to their lair. One night, destiny leads a lovely young woman, seeking refuge, into their midst. Written by Daphne du Maurier, this tale of mystery, intrigue and romantic adventure, was directed by Hitchcock. It stars Charles Laughton, Robert Newton, Leslie Banks and Maureen O’Hara in her first film role.
