Crusading U.S. Attorney, Joe Dubbs, wants to bring down crime boss, Domenic Leopold Gilbert Roland. A corrupt city utilities commissioner William Shatner, has promised Leopold the contract for a massive public works project in return for a huge kickback. All they need is for the mayor Gordon Pinsent, to endorse the contract. Then an Incident On A Dark Street ends in the murder of a small-time hoodlum. His demise leads his brother to evidence that will expose the scheme to defraud the city, and now the brother must decide whether to take the evidence to the U.S. Attorney, or use it to blackmail Leopold.
