Soon after a gangland informant is gunned down and dumped in an Arkansas lake, a strange meteorite streaks through the atmosphere and plunges into the same lake. Its unearthly power re-animates the murdered man’s corpse, and zombie-like, the creature rises from the water to wreak vengeance on his killers. Some students, on an outing from their nearby college, discover the meteorite and take it back to show to their geology professor George Gobel. Drawn by the source of power that animates it, the creature stalks through the campus, seeking the meteorite, trailing terror and destruction in its wake.
