As the Allies push into Germany in 1944, a U.S. Army Captain is ordered to prevent the retreating Germans from blowing up a dam and stalling the Allied advance. The Captain’s prejudices start to show when he learns he’s expected to complete this difficult and dangerous mission with the Black Brigade, a unit composed entirely of black GIs. Then he discovers it’s a service unit normally assigned to digging trenches and latrines. They have no combat experience and no discipline, but they’re all he’s got, and time is running out. Stephen Boyd, Robert Hooks, Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Williams and Rosie Grier star in this tense, action-packed WWII drama.
