Drawn by a half-baked scheme to corner the Uranium market in British East Africa, a motley crew of con men and ne’er-do-wells assemble in a small resort town on the southern coast of Italy. The success of the scheme is threatened from the start by their mutual suspicions and their underhanded efforts to fraud, double-cross and do each other in and only the winner will Beat The Devil. Relations fall apart when transportation problems strand them in a hostile African country. A classic, off beat comedy from director John Houston.
